How to apply:

Apply at least twice daily or as directed by a medical health professional.

Before each application of Curaderm BEC5 wash the area with water, and dry thoroughly. Apply antiseptic gel to the area, and rub in. This procedure ensures removal of dead cells which would otherwise form a barrier.

Apply an adequate layer yet not an excessive amount of Curaderm BEC5 to the affected areas only, avoiding the surrounding area. Cover with a simple dressing such as the micropore paper-tape provided with your order. Never allow the area to dry out.

Step 1: Preparation – Cleanse the area using an antiseptic solution such as Hibiclens Antiseptic skin cleanser and dry the area. Alternatively, use soap and water to clean the area.

Step 2: Application – Apply Curaderm BEC5 only to the original area avoiding the surrounding areas to reduce redness on the edges.

Step 3: Covering – Gently cover the area with a simple dressing such as a surgical paper tape (3M Micropore paper tape).

FAQ About Curaderm BEC5

Frequently Asked Questions

Disclaimer: Please note that only your own physician can determine your precise needs, but in order to give you some information these answers are based upon the ‘average person’ and clinical/ published results.

What is Curaderm-BEC5?
Curaderm-BEC5 is a topical product in a clear plastic bottle. Each product contains 20ml of formulated cream and 0.005% BEC.

(click to return to top of this page)

How often should I use Curaderm BEC5?
Curaderm-BEC5 should be used at least twice daily but may also be used up to ten times daily. Please speak to your doctor or healthcare provider for direction in more frequent applications. It is important to always cover the affected area with a dressing such as Micropore, which is a brand of paper tape. DO NOT allow the area to which cream is applied to dry out.

(click to return to top of this page)

How long should I perform applications of Curaderm BEC5?
You should apply the cream on the affected areas with Curaderm BEC5 twice a day until the area appears normal. On occasion it may be necessary to prolong regime. If in doubt, it is better to keep using the cream on the area for an extended period of time to prevent re-occurrence. It is important to ensure a regular application regime. Multiple skipped applications may result in the growth of normal skin over the top of the affected area. This can result in masking, and thus the incomplete healing.

(click to return to top of this page)

How should Curaderm BEC5 be stored?
It is recommended to store Curaderm BEC5 in a cool, dry place - preferably below the temperature of 25°C (77°F). After opening, the cream should be stored in the refrigerator.

(click to return to top of this page)

After opening the product, the cream was liquid. Does this affect the effectiveness of the product? Is the product permanently damaged as a result of high temperatures, or will it be fine after cooling it down in the refrigerator?
The Curaderm-BEC5 tube is not damaged but separated due to high temperatures.
It can be reconstituted back to its normal paste like form again and is still 100% effective!

To reconstitute your tube of Curaderm BEC5 back to its normal formulation, please follow the following 4 steps listed below:

Step 1: Place the tube of Curaderm BEC5 in a small pot of very hot water that is 140-158 degrees Fahrenheit (60-70 degrees Celsius) for approximately 5 minutes.
Step 2: Remove the tube of Curaderm BEC5 and shake it vigorously by hand. You will be able to hear the liquid when shaking the tube like it is water. Continues to shake until you stop hearing the aqueous solution shaking inside.
Step 3: Place the tube of Curaderm BEC5 into the freezer for 15 minutes.
Step 4: Then store the tube of Curaderm BEC5 in the refrigerator for use. The purpose of placing the Curaderm BEC5 into a pot of very hot water that is 140-158°F (60-70°C) is to fully separate all the ingredients completely before blending them back together into its normal formulation. Following these 4 steps will ensure that the ingredients in your tube of Curaderm BEC5 will be blended back together and the product will work 100% effectively as new. This should also return the CuradermBEC5 to a creamy consistency.

I'm planning on working outside or participating in water activities. What precautions should I take?
It is extremely important that, after you have applied Curaderm BEC5 to the area, that you cover the area with an occlusive dressing. The manufacturer recommends using micropore paper tape as an occlusive dressing. Micropore paper tape is necessary to prevent the area from drying out and forming a scab. Water are a great form of exercise, but it is extremely important that you do not get the dressing wet. If the dressing accidentally becomes wet or if it becomes detached before the next scheduled dosing, you should reapply new cream and a new dressing. In addition, the manufacturer recommends that you avoid sun exposure to the area where Curaderm is being applied. If you planning on working outside, we would recommend you put on a wide brimmed hat to avoid exposing your face to the sun. In addition, we would recommend you wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen on all areas of your face, neck, and other parts of your body that may be exposed to the sun.

(click to return to top of this page)

When is it OK to use skin lotions or creams like Tamanu oil on an area?
You should not use creams or lotions on the area you are applying Curaderm BEC5 to. Once you are no longer using Curaderm BEC5, you can use creams or lotions.

Suggestion for application of Micropore paper tape.
• Tape should be applied without tension to clean, dry skin.
• A clipper may be used to remove hair, if necessary.
• To protect at-risk skin, 3M™ Cavilon™ No Sting Barrier Film may be applied and when thoroughly dry, tape may be applied over it.
• In general, do not encircle a limb completely with tape. • If distention is anticipated, use a tape that stretches or a self-adherent wrap to secure the dressing or tubing

A. General taping

Apply the tape without tension, gently but firmly stroking the surface to maximize adhesion. Tape should extend at least one-half inch beyond the dressing. Tape should not be pulled or stretched when applied. If swelling does occur, loosen and re-fasten or replace tape to relieve the tension.

B. When compression is needed

1. Place first section of tape without tension onto skin on one side of the dressing, gently pressing downward.
2. With one hand, secure tape on one edge of the dressing while slightly stretching next section of tape over the dressing.
3. Secure tape on opposite edge of the dressing.
4. Press remaining tape onto skin without tension. Compression should come from the multiple layers of dressing material, not from excessive tension in the tape. Skin distention under tape may result in blistering and should be relieved as soon as possible.

What is the cream’s shelf life?
Curaderm BEC5 Cream has a shelf life of 5 years from the date of manufacturing that can be found on each tube.

(click to return to top of this page)

Why do I need micropore tape? Is it necessary for application?
While the micropore tape isn’t necessary for the applications it prevents the cream from drying out and ensures the best results possible. Without the micropore tape the number of daily applications of the cream should be increased to up to 10.

(click to return to top of this page)

What if I have sensitive skin and the tape provided is too sticky?
In cases when the provided surgical micropore tape is too sticky and the skin is sensitive it is generally recommended to try and remove the tape after each application under water for easier removal. Alternatively, one should consider switching to micropore tape for sensitive skin.

What antiseptic gel should I be using?
The manufacturer recommends using Hibiclens or an equivalent. It remains important to cleanse the area with antiseptic each time, before you reapply the cream.

In addition, we would recommend you wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen on all areas of your face, neck, and other parts of your body that may be exposed to the sun. Curaderm works!

Posted by Caz Loth on Oct 18th 2017

I've been using Curaderm for about 3 years now. I continue to have squamous cells pop up on my head. Have had some removed surgically but Curaderm can work in place of surgery. I most recently healed a cancerous spot that was also a lump about 1/4 in high. I finally wore it down by using sandpaper to scrub off the fake skin the squamous cell produces so that the Curaderm can get to the cancer. This on took a while; 8 or 9 months but it was finally reduced to a small, black, tarball of cancer. Fantastic stuff. Had I known about it sooner, i would not have had all the surgeries. Thank you Curaderm.

    Curaderm BEC5

Posted by Michael Meyer on Oct 2nd 2017

Curaderm BEC5 WORKS as instructed with targeted applications for 3-4 days. The scabs that form when dry will be removed by bathing or soaking, but I found it takes a week or two, and there is some shadow of discoloration. In a family where subsequent applications are required, it would be very helpful to offer a "refill" at reduced price, than to have to buy the Book, tape and Curaderm gel over and over again. Thank you for this research and development!
Tape removal

Posted by Linda Simcox on Sep 28th 2017

Wish I had known about this product before I had surgery the first time. This has worked really well for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to cure basal cell skin cancer. It takes a long time but is totally worth it. Yes it burns for a minute when first applied and the tape hurts coming off. My advice for tape removal is to hold a moist warm rag over the tape for a minute and then pull it off. Well worth it.

    Proven results

Posted by CJM on Sep 24th 2017

Can't validate my self diagnosis through a dermatologist or lab because I chose avoid the expense and expected difficulty of finding a knowledgeable and supportive dermatologist locally. However, I feel compelled to share my experience and encourage others to believe in this product and give it a try because it has worked for me. For seven years I have had a .6 centimeter circular bump develop on one side of my nose. I believe it was a basal cell carcinoma. I ordered the Curaderm BEC5 cream and treated this area according to the instructions, applying the treatment four times a day for three weeks. The Curaderm slowly dissolved the bump and continued to work its way underneath to the basal cell level. A "cave" formed, but I soon saw new tissue growth, which has now filled in the cavity. I now have a small "divot" where the bump used to be. Without Curaderm, I would have spent thousands with more pain, inconvenience and scarring to obtain the results so far. This is real science!

    Vita-Stream and Curaderm

Posted by Roger Olmstead on Sep 11th 2017

I had an area of basal cell carcinoma on my lower lip, and I purchased and used Curaderm to treat it. The treatment plan was well defined, and worked! In less than four weeks, all signs of carcinoma are gone. Provided Micropore tape worked well, even on my lip. I am now applying Emu Oil, and there are no traces or scars present. Vita-Stream support, and service, were great as well.

    Curaderm

Posted by Geri Bigum on Sep 5th 2017

I started using Curaderm on a spot on my nose on July 7th. It turned ugly pretty quickly. The book helped a lot to explain things but I didn't foresee having an allergic reaction to the tape. So, I switched to bandaids. Then I just skipped the bandaids altogether. I think it's doing a great job and gets better each week. We are taking pictures, which I really recommend, for those days when you think it's gotten worse instead of better. It helps you to see that the product is doing it's job. When you look at it everyday, some days there's a lot more dead skin to remove, leaving redness and feeling raw. Pictures will show you the improvement and help you stay the course!

    Works!

Posted by Jill on Sep 2nd 2017

I started using Curaderm on a BCC on my left cheek. I knew it was a BCC because I had a biopsy done. Anyway, I started using the Curaderm about a year ago and approximately 14 weeks later the spot had completely healed over. I am so glad I didn't go through with the Mohs surgery that the doctor (and most of my friends) recommended. After treating the first spot, I developed another spot on my forehead, but that is now gone after treatment. As other reviewers say, it is a slow process, but it is totally worth it. It is kind of exciting watching the healing process. I am now treating a sun spot (age spot). I cannot find much information on Curaderm for age spots however.

    GOOD PRODUCT

Posted by MARIE F on Aug 31st 2017

I have been using this cream on my husband's squamous cell cancer
since July 10. It is working just like the pictures in the booklet. When the growth disappeared the area was as large as a quarter. Now the area is about the size of a dime. The cream stings for about 4 minutes. It is a slow going process. Am waiting for the final results. The growth was in his hairline above his left ear. He has had previous squamous cell cancers removed surgically going back to 1994. When this is completely healed I will write a new review and
hopefully give it 5 stars. I would recommend this product. It is worth a try, rather than have more surgery at 83yrs.
Curaderm

Posted by Douglas on Aug 27th 2017

Formulation is different from previous orders. The product seems to be doing its job. The suspected cancer spot turned out to be larger than it looked so it is taking a longer time to heal than previous applications. The product causes significant stinging when applied so that is something to watch out for.

We expect that the result will be the same as previous applications with no facial scarring evident after the skin heals itself.

    Curaderm

Posted by Sharon Giudice on Aug 21st 2017

After having had three Mohs surgeries on my face, one requiring a graft on my nose, I decided I had had enough of surgery and I was not going to do it anymore. I had heard of Curaderm cream for years but had been hesitant to try it. I can't say enough how much it has helped me in the past few years avoid repeated surgeries on my face. Whenever a lesion appears I use the cream and it takes care of the cancer without leaving a scar. Surgery always has left scars, and now I have something that not only kills the cancer but does it in a natural way. This is not a quick fix though -- I usually have to apply the cream for a few months on a lesion, but that is a small price to pay in my opinion for such great results!

    Beware !

Posted by Jacko on Aug 18th 2017

Im NOT saying the product doesn't work... It just never worked for my SCC and the curaderm support people led me down a garden path and after 3 bottles and 90 days I stopped as my SCC was growing.. I submitted my lab results to the curaderm people and they assured me I was doing well in treatment.. Well it doesn't work for everyone....

    Excellent Experience with Curaderm

Posted by Bonnie McMullen on Aug 15th 2017

I am extremely pleased that I cancelled my appointment for Moh's surgery for a basal cell carcinoma that was located just above my right nostril towards the tip of my nose. It was a little intimidating at first to see how deep the hole ended up being from applying the Curaderm 2x a day but I have followed the directions and the "hole" (or 3rd nostril, as I came to call it") has healed up nicely. I still have a ways to go but I am almost completely healed over. The tape seemed to be a bit old so I finally replaced it with a narrower, flesh colored surgical tape purchased from the local hospital pharmacy. I'm very pleased with the results of the Curaderm and am grateful I did not have to go thru the Moh's surgery. I have recommended this product to friends and would use it again without hesitation.

    Skin cancer's on face

Posted by Marilyn Hale on Jul 18th 2017

I have a history of skin cancer on my face only. I have had $13,000.00 worth of Mohs surgery done in the past & recently I had 6 separate spots pop up, all on my face, & 4 of them are in the same area that I had the Mohs. I have used Curaderm successfully in the past, so I ordered some & started 8 weeks ago. 2 of them have stoped reacting to the Curaderm so I'm only treating the other 4 at present. They too look really good so I expect they'll be finished soon too. The burning got a little intense when putting it on each time from doing all 6 at one time, but I knew from
experience that they were all connected. Great product. Easy to use. I highly recommend it to people everywhere I go.

This cream is a blessing. Works as described to target basil cells without harming healthy tissue. There is some discomfort and irritation & it looks worse before it gets better. If you can get past that & follow the routine, you will be happy with the results and the appearance of new healthy tissue.
